My Why

Why did you choose to become a dietitian?

I’ve always been interested in the connection between food, health, and everyday life, but my education and clinical experiences really showed me how much more there is to nutrition than simply telling people what to eat.

Working with patients in different clinical settings and from many different backgrounds taught me that nutrition recommendations have to fit the person in front of you. You can give someone the “perfect” meal plan, but if it doesn’t work with their culture, schedule, preferences, symptoms, or relationship with food, it isn’t actually helpful. That has shaped me into a dietitian who focuses on making nutrition realistic and sustainable rather than expecting clients to completely change their lives overnight.

My own cultural background has also made me really value culturally relevant nutrition. I don’t believe healthy eating needs to mean giving up the foods you grew up with or love.

My Superpowers

Turning the overwhelming into the doable

One of my biggest strengths is taking something that feels overwhelming and making it feel simple, practical, and doable. Nutrition can become incredibly confusing when people are exposed to social media, conflicting advice, food rules, and different opinions about what they “should” be eating. I’m good at cutting through that noise and figuring out what actually matters for you.

I’m also good at identifying when a plan looks great on paper but probably won’t work in someone’s real life. I pay attention to things like your schedule, eating patterns, social life, culture, cooking habits, budget, and even what you realistically can do. I’d rather make five small changes that someone can actually maintain than give them a 20-step plan they abandon after two weeks!

Simple

Clear, realistic steps you can use.

Practical

Solutions that work for your real life.

Doable

Habits that last, without perfection.

Beyond the Scale

Helping you understand your body and trust yourself around food

I want women to get to a point where they understand their bodies and trust themselves around food rather than constantly feeling like they need another diet or another set of rules.

Weight can be one part of the conversation, but I care just as much about helping someone feel more energized, confident, consistent, and comfortable with food. I want clients to be able to go out for dinner without feeling guilty, understand how to build a balanced meal without overthinking it, recognize what their body is telling them, and know how to get back on track without the “I messed up, so I might as well start again Monday” mentality.

The goal is for nutrition to become something that supports their life rather than something they constantly have to think about.

What Clients Say

No judgment, just real support

I think clients appreciate that I don’t make them feel judged. I want them to be able to tell me honestly what they’re eating, where they’re struggling, or what they haven’t been able to follow without feeling like they’ve disappointed me.

I also think they appreciate that I explain the why behind my recommendations. I don’t want someone following a plan just because I told them to. I want them to understand what they’re doing well, what could be improved, and why it matters.

If someone recommended me to a friend, I’d love for them to say something like: “She actually listens to you, she makes nutrition make sense, and she gives you things you can realistically stick to.”

You deserve to feel heard. Supported. And understood.

My Passion

For the women who feel like they’ve tried everything

I’m especially passionate about helping women who feel like they’ve tried everything (different diets, cutting out foods, tracking calories, detoxes, “being good” Monday to Friday, and starting over every Monday) but still don’t feel like they understand their bodies.

I love the moment when someone goes from thinking, “My body is working against me” to realizing, “Wait… I actually understand what’s happening and I know what I can do about it.”

That shift is so meaningful to me because I don’t want women spending years feeling like they have to constantly fix themselves.

I’m also passionate about making nutrition feel culturally relevant and enjoyable. I don’t want healthy eating to feel like a completely different lifestyle that someone has to adopt. Whether that means modifying traditional foods, finding realistic restaurant options, or figuring out how to eat well with a busy schedule, I want clients to see that they can improve their health without losing the parts of food and life that they love.

Credentials

A strong foundation, with real-world experience

I’m a Registered Dietitian (RD) with the College of Dietitians of Ontario. I have a Master of Health Science in Nutrition Communication from Toronto Metropolitan University and a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Physiology from the University of Toronto.

My clinical training included a 15-week inpatient placement at Sunnybrook Hospital, where I worked with a diverse patient population across areas including the Neurovascular ICU, Reactivation Care Centre, and Veterans Centre. I’ve managed a large clinical caseload and developed experience translating complex medical and nutrition information into practical recommendations.

I’ve also worked in community nutrition and diabetes education, including delivering healthy cooking workshops, and have experience developing culturally tailored nutrition resources.

My areas of interest include women’s nutrition, sustainable weight management, healthy eating habits, diabetes, chronic disease management, and helping clients build a healthier and more positive relationship with food. I also provide care in English and Arabic: and yes, I will absolutely talk about your food in a way that makes sense culturally, not just hand you a generic “healthy foods” list.
