My Why
Growing up, I didn’t fully appreciate how much food and nutrition could influence someone’s health. That changed when my father’s health declined. I remember seeing how often his health was being discussed in relation to his dietary habits and having regular interactions with his doctors. That experience made me curious about the connection between what we eat and how our bodies function, and ultimately led me to pursue dietetics.
As I gained more experience as a dietitian, especially working with clients one-on-one and in clinical settings, my perspective became much more holistic. I realized that knowing what someone “should” eat is only one small part of the equation. Their culture, family, schedule, stress, sleep, relationship with food, finances, preferences, and readiness to change all affect whether a nutrition recommendation is actually realistic.
That has really shaped the way I work today. I don't want to give someone a perfect plan that only works on paper. I want to understand the person in front of me and figure out what will realistically work in their life. I also don't believe healthy eating should mean giving up the foods someone loves or constantly feeling restricted. I try to help clients make changes that improve their health while still allowing food to be enjoyable and culturally meaningful.
My Superpowers
One of my biggest strengths is being able to look at a client's routine and quickly identify what is actually getting in the way. Sometimes a client thinks they need a completely new diet, but when we talk through their day, the issue might be that they aren't eating enough during the day, their meals aren't keeping them satisfied, they're relying on convenience foods because of their schedule, or they're trying to follow recommendations that simply don't fit their lifestyle. I’m good at taking all of that information and simplifying it into a few changes that feel manageable.
I also think I’m good at connecting the dots between symptoms, behaviours, and nutrition without making clients feel overwhelmed. For example, with someone dealing with bloating, fatigue, cravings, digestive issues, or difficulty with weight, I like to look at the bigger picture rather than immediately focusing on one food or one symptom. I help clients understand the “why” behind a recommendation so that they aren't just following a meal plan and they actually understand their body and can make decisions for themselves.
Understand how routines, symptoms, and nutrition connect.
Find realistic steps that fit your everyday life.
Build the knowledge to make your own decisions.
Beyond the Scale
For me, the biggest change is helping women move from feeling like they are constantly fighting their bodies or their food to actually understanding and trusting themselves.
Weight loss can certainly be one goal, but I want clients to leave with more than a lower number on the scale. I want them to understand what makes them feel energized and satisfied, recognize their hunger and fullness cues, feel more confident around food, and understand how their nutrition connects with things like digestion, hormones, energy, sleep, and mood.
A lot of women come in having tried multiple diets and feeling like they have failed because they couldn't maintain them. I want to change that mindset. Instead of another restrictive plan or having guilt around food, we work on habits that fit their actual life and help them feel capable of taking care of themselves.
Ultimately, I want the change to be that they feel more confident in their own decisions and don't feel like they need to be “on a diet” forever to take care of their health.
What Clients Say
I think clients appreciate that I listen. I don't want to assume I know what someone's life looks like before I understand it. We talk about their routines, , culture, work, stress, preferences, symptoms, and what they have already tried. From there, we figure out patterns and make gradual changes towards their health goals.
Clients leave feeling they finally understand their body and their relationship with food, without making nutrition feel complicated or overwhelming.
My Passion
I'm especially passionate about helping women who feel like they've been doing everything “right” but still don't feel good in their bodies.
I find it really rewarding when someone comes in feeling frustrated by things like bloating, digestive symptoms, low energy, weight changes, cravings, hormonal changes, or a difficult relationship with food, and they feel like nobody has really looked at the whole picture.
I enjoy figuring out what is underneath the problem and helping someone understand what their body may be communicating rather than just putting a temporary band-aid on the symptom. At the same time, I’m careful not to make nutrition overly restrictive or complicated. I want evidence-based nutrition to be something someone can actually live with.
I'm also passionate about helping women build a healthier relationship with food. I see so many people who have spent years jumping between diets, restricting certain foods, feeling guilty about eating, and then feeling like they have failed. Helping someone break out of that cycle while still working toward meaningful health goals is one of the most rewarding parts of my work.
What matters to me is that the changes aren't just something someone does for 8 or 12 weeks. I want them to learn skills they can continue using for the rest of their life.
Credentials
I am a Registered Dietitian (RD) with a Bachelor of Science in Food and Human Nutritional Sciences from the University of Manitoba, with a focus in Psychology. I also completed my accredited dietetic internship through the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority and am registered with the College of Dietitians of Ontario.
I have several years of experience working in both clinical and private-practice settings. My areas of focus include weight management, gut and digestive health, IBS and bloating, diabetes and blood sugar management, cardiovascular health, women's hormonal health, pre- and post-pregnancy nutrition, and food psychology.
A big part of my practice is working with culturally diverse clients and adapting nutrition recommendations to the foods they actually eat. I have particular familiarity with South Asian and Indian cuisines and enjoy helping clients make their cultural foods part of a healthy, balanced approach rather than feeling like they have to give them up.
I provide care in English and Hindi.
